Welcome to the 2025–2026 School Year!
We’re excited to welcome our HESD students, families, and staff back for another year of learning and growth! The first day of school is Wednesday, August 20th—and our classrooms are ready with supportive environments and a focus on student success. Whether you’re new to HESD or returning, your involvement and support help make our schools such special places.
This year marks the full implementation of the California Community Schools program at E.O. Green, Blackstock, Haycox, and Williams Schools—transforming these campuses into hubs for student and family support.
We remain committed to visual and performing arts opportunities at all grade levels, giving students creative outlets to express themselves, build confidence, and showcase their talents.
Our SHINE expanded learning program continues to provide enriching after-school activities, academic support, and safe spaces for students to explore interests and connect with friends.
Over the summer, we completed several campus improvements:
Most importantly, HESD schools are safe, welcoming, and inclusive for all students. We follow strong safety protocols, maintain secure campuses, and foster a culture of respect and belonging so every student feels supported every day. In everything we do, we are guided by our vision of inspiring and empowering all students to thrive every day.
With your partnership, we will ensure every student has the support, encouragement, and opportunities they need to succeed.
