The Hueneme School District serves identified gifted and talented education (GATE) students in grades 3-8. GATE screening is scheduled in the Fall every year for grade three at each elementary school.
For any student in grades 3-8, parents and teachers may refer a student for screening by downloading the referral and parent permission forms from this website and submitting them to the principal.
GATE students are offered special programming and events - during and after school.
A Grades 7-8 Honors Committee was formed during the 2023/24 school year to create a plan to reboot our Junior High Honors Program. As a result of their collaboration, language arts, math, history/social science, and science honors classes are now available to 7th and 8th graders.
